A Pathway to Understanding
I read Dr. Covert's book in parallel with a brilliant new essay by Dr. Marilynne Robinson, A theology of the Present Moment (NYRB, December 27, 2022). Dr. Robinson provides the most profoundly persuasive argument for the existence God based in science and faith that I have yet heard. Dr. Robinson shows that God exists in the generous and infinite particularity of the universe. Dr. Covert tells us how Christ's teachings are a pathway to communion with God and eternal life. This slim book explains Old and New Testament writings on faith, judgement, death, spirits, and the afterlife.

Dr. Covert offers his own metaphysical experiences to help explain elements of the spirit world and the afterlife. I will add of one such experience of my own. Shortly after my father died in December 2018 when my mother was inconsolable in her grief, I dreamed that my father appeared to my mother and me. He explained that he just wanted to let us know that he was fine, and that he wants us to find joy. I believe that this was an actual visitation from my father.

My mother died last year. She loved to say that life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be explored. Dr. Marilynne Robinson shows us the proof of God's existence in the miracle of creation. In Journey to the Next World, Dr. Covet shows the pathway to communion with God and understanding of the mysteries of the universe, in this world, and the next. The pathway is love.

Enrich ones mental grasp of the Soul
The author includes substantive quotes from the Old and New Testament, empirical data and personal experiences while presenting the Journey as living in Faith ,i.e. exercising the Holy Spirit (love and Peace) to more fully reflect the Essence of God to enter, in Spirit ,the next world. The text is conveniently divided into chapters that interface critical subject material including Death, Resurrection, Eschatology, judgment and the Spirit World.

Was a must on my reading list. Dr. Covert's way at wording and explaining speak to not only me but to all of us who have questions. His life experience is down to earth and relates well with people from all walks of life!

Reasurring
A reassuring book that addresses questions we all have asked and, at the same time, poses questions we may have missed. A comfortable read that stayed with me long after I put the book down.

Guidepost for One's Spiritual Journey
Inspirational, insightful, instructional and uplifting describe Dr. Covert's book. The book is a very helpful resource for one's spiritual journey, and also for group study. It challenges us to deal with our own questions of death and resurrection. The author serves up nutritious soul food with a strong ingredient of hope.
