This is the life story of pioneer Bishop John P. Yoder (1885-1975) married 1st to Ida Kropf and 2nd to Clara Kropf and his four children as well as his home communities of Kalona, Iowa and later Harrisburg, Oregon. It is also the history of the Mennonite Church in Oregon. A notable forefather of his was the Indian captive Jacob Hochstetler. John had a hard life and struggled, but he had the same belief and practice of returning good for evil and passed that from generation to generation. (474pp. color illus. hardcover. Author, 2021.)
