This is a biographical novel of a boy who was born into the history and culture of the Plain People of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Feeling that he wasn't living up to his given name, he moved from Lancaster Co., PA, to Denver, CO, to serve as a conscientious objector during the war. From that point on he never let himself be encumbered by such traditional faith expectations. His is a story of great accomplishments bracketed by times of great despair.
