Harnessing Harmony

Diana Kornet

  • 1000

Meet Marty, Troy, and Memphis the horse as Marty learns to trust and believe in his own abilities. This story began to take shape when the author was facing the fear of her cancer journey. The horse in the story encapsulates cancer because they are both something larger than ourselves. The book teaches you to always have faith and believe in yourself by learning to ignite your super-power through life's many hurdles. (28pp. full-color illus. Masthof Press, 2024.)

Reading level ages 5-10.

Carolyn Riker, author of The Colors I Hear

Diana Kornet's book, Harnessing Harmony, is a gentle short story with big lessons. She touches on trust and confidence and how to calm our worries. Kornet melts her words with a bit of rhyme and lots of imagination. The illustrations by Kornet and Betsy Williams Hackman are charming, colorful, and engaging. The glossy pages are smooth. This book is a keepsake. It's a perfect gift. You'll enjoy reading it to your niece, nephew or grandchild. Elementary school teachers can use this book as a springboard for vocabulary, alliteration, and rhyming words. Child therapists can use it to explore big emotions. This is a perfect book to add to your collection. Even more, if you love horses! Harnessing Harmony will touch your heart. It touched mine with lots of hope, love, and kindness.

Beautiful story! The way the author wove the story around a beautiful horse really captivated my attention. As she mentioned, both cancer and horses are larger than ourselves, and she portrayed this beautifully. Additionally, I found a personal connection to the name Troy that she chose. I truly believe this book is going to do very well and inspire a lot of people. Thank you for sharing your story that undoubtably needs to be told.
