The letters included in this source collection have a long and complicated history written in the heat of controversy in the so-called Amish division of 1693. They circulated as a means of defending or attacking specific positions. Long after the tensions of the division subsided, these continued to be read by Amish and Mennonites. (160pp. illus. index.
